After many, many years (5, 6, 7 years??) I think I have finally found my perfect pair of flat black riding boots. They are the Archive Boot from Madewell. They arrived to my house yesterday and they are perfect! Matte black, tall but not too tall (because I am not tall), super flat but still feel a bit rugged, chunky antiqued zipper - LOVE!
And as you can sort of tell from this photo, I finally figured out a good way to wear thigh-high socks without feeling trashy. Here I have thick black thigh-highs over super opaque black tights. I definitely recommend giving this look a try, the socks add that extra layer of warmth over the tights - AND even the husband liked it (crazy!)
