To Grandma and Papa's House we go...

The girls and I went to Olympia to visit my parents. It is a 3 hours drive when you don't figure in a stop at the store, a "quick stop" at a rest area, traffic, and road construction. Emma fell asleep twice on the trip while Mandy, the morning napper, did not sleep at all. Ah, the best laid plans....

We always have a fantastic time at my parents. After all, they live at camp! We went swimming in the heated pool. The weather the first day was a perfect 80 degrees and the pool felt great.

Both of my girls love the water. Love, love it! They also have NO fear and it requires vigilant watching and playing.

Little Miss Innocent had an accident in the pool and had to have a wardrobe change. Thankfully we smelled it before she caused damage and  we were kicked out of the pool and it had to be drained. :) Also, thankfully she brought along 2 of her 3 swim suits so she could keep swimming and looking cute!

This picture above is of Emma doing 'bobs.' She puts her whole head under water!

The weather is always cooler at the camp. The location near the Sound, the breeze from the lake, and the many trees make is cool when everywhere else is stifling. Jeff was swathing (cutting grass for seed) and the AC did not work in his machine. The temp was at 115 degrees for most of the day. We felt very sorry for him as we enjoyed the pool and lake. Note the sweatshirt in the following pictures -- it was almost cold, but don't tell my poor, hard working husband.

My dad, Emm, and I went out on the lake in a canoe for a short ride. It was calm and so fun.

My mom thinks she takes terrible pictures, but she took the picture above and the next one using my camera. I think she just needs a not-terrible camera.

Emma enjoyed the canoe ride, but kept yelling "faster, faster" at her paddlers. This is top speed, Darlin'.

Emma played and played some more on the endlessly fun play structures. She is daring. She is funny. She is energetic. She makes friends quickly. She made friends with a little girl her age with the unfortunate name of Calliopi. Emma just called her "friend" and said her name was too hard to say. I agree.

We looked up Calliopi when we got home and found that she was a Muse in Greek mythology. Her name means 'beautiful music.'

The slide gave Emma static electricity!

Back home to the real world. Thanks for the fun time, mom and dad. I especially appreciate the baby-sitting, mom, so I could go shopping!

My wonderful husband cleaned the house while we were gone and did laundry. He missed us!
