The girls and I went to Olympia to visit my parents. It is a 3 hours drive when you don't figure in a stop at the store, a "quick stop" at a rest area, traffic, and road construction. Emma fell asleep twice on the trip while Mandy, the morning napper, did not sleep at all. Ah, the best laid plans....
The weather is always cooler at the camp. The location near the Sound, the breeze from the lake, and the many trees make is cool when everywhere else is stifling. Jeff was swathing (cutting grass for seed) and the AC did not work in his machine. The temp was at 115 degrees for most of the day. We felt very sorry for him as we enjoyed the pool and lake. Note the sweatshirt in the following pictures -- it was almost cold, but don't tell my poor, hard working husband. My mom thinks she takes terrible pictures, but she took the picture above and the next one using my camera. I think she just needs a not-terrible camera.
We looked up Calliopi when we got home and found that she was a Muse in Greek mythology. Her name means 'beautiful music.'

Back home to the real world. Thanks for the fun time, mom and dad. I especially appreciate the baby-sitting, mom, so I could go shopping!
My wonderful husband cleaned the house while we were gone and did laundry. He missed us!
